I am super stoked to be writing my first ever blog! I hope my followers find it interesting, engaging and enlightening, so enough with the sentiments and on with the most important topic, me (ahem, the studio) of course!
THE BIO:
My name is Chandra Davis and I am a licensed Esthetician in the state of Illinois. I jokingly titled myself as Skintician which is a play on the words esthetician and beautician (hey, I’ve gotta find some way to stand out from other industry leaders). I studied at Estelle Skincare and Spa Institute in Skokie and recently graduated in February 2017. My area of expertise is corrective skin therapy using traditional equipment and proven methods. Paired with long term treatment plans that I personally customize to each client creates a winning combination for long-lasting, visible results.
THE WHY:
Every spa, salon or studio offered the same cookie cutter “spa” personality. Nothing seemed new or fresh. I wanted to bring to the beauty industry, the design elements and personality that I believe was missing from most, if not all, beauty service businesses (that is a pretty bold statement, I know).
THE STUDIO:
ONYX STUDIOS, INC. is a tad bit unorthodox when it comes to the skincare and beauty industry. I didn’t want to push society’s ideas and standards of beauty on my clientele. I want everyone who visits my studio to know that they are accepted just the way they are; and know that their skin type, color, condition or flaws wouldn’t be subject to scrutiny or judgment. I make it a point to use textures, colors and other visual elements to in my marketing and studio decor as to best avoid manipulating the client’s perception of themselves. Combining this technique with the use of a private treatment room, my services are elevated to a memorable experience.
THE SERVICES:
I offer a wide variety of services for my clientele such as traditional facials, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, ultrasound, and microcurrent. While these methods alone can be helpful in treating visibly distressed skin, it’s the long term treatment plans that yield the most power in corrective therapy. I don’t push gimmicks, quick fixes or miracle products. I believe the healthiest and safest route to healthy skin and corrective therapy is persistence and time.
THE PRODUCTS:
The products used during my treatments are exclusive to the studio. I offer a skincare collection for each skin type such as oily skin, dry skin, combination skin, sensitive skin, and mature skin. I boast products that are non- comedogenic, hypoallergenic, cruelty and fragrance-free.
