All of the blog’s content is written by me, The Skintician, Chandra Davis! So, please excuse any typos or grammatical errors y’all, writing isn’t my strongest skill.

THE SKINTICIAN
WHAT IS A SKINTICIAN?
“Skintician” is a word I totally a made up. It’s a mash up of the words “skin” + “Esthetician”. I came up with the name back in 2017 as a way to stand out from the many other wonderful Estheticians operating in the state of Illinois.
The word “Skintician” is NOT an official title or occupation, however it’s the name I have given myself in addition to my position as a licensed Esthetician. I liked the name so much I even trademarked it!
WHAT'S YOUR SKIN TONE?
I consider my skin tone a dark medium brown. Technically, my Fitzpatrick Skin Type is V (5).
WHAT'S YOUR SKIN TYPE?
Technically, it depends on the season but my skin type is in between combination and normal. I am usually oily on the forehead, nose and chin areas in the spring and summer but I am normal and non-oily in fall and winter.
WHAT SKINCARE PRODUCTS DO YOU USE?
Actually, I use my own skincare brand NWÄR Skin, Inc. I don’t mix my products with the use of other brands since I try to keep the number of product ingredients I put on my skin down to a minimum.
But the brands I have used in the past and that I like are Olay, Aveeno, and Dove, yeah I know, I was drugstore chic and I have since stepped my game up!
WHAT ARE YOUR CREDENTIALS?
I studied at Estelle Skin Care Spa and Institute in 2016, where I currently sit as an advisory member of the school’s education board.
I continue my studies by taking independent training and classes offered by various skincare brands and authoritative organizations on the study of esthetics.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PRACTICING ESTHETICS?
I have been licensed and practicing esthetics in the state of Illinois since 2017. I offer facials, waxing and lash extension services at my boutique beauty studio, called NWÄR STUDIOS, INC.
